Abud J. Said is an accomplished business leader, strategic communicator, and economic development advocate with a strong footprint in Kenya’s private sector ecosystem. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) – Mombasa Chapter, where he oversees regional business advocacy, institutional strengthening, and stakeholder partnerships that enhance the competitiveness of enterprises across the Coast region.

With a leadership style defined by clarity, collaboration, and long-term vision, Abud has played a central role in revitalizing the Chamber’s presence in Mombasa. Under his stewardship, the Chapter has deepened its engagement with government, industry associations, investors, and MSMEs—expanding opportunities for local businesses while championing transparent and inclusive economic policy dialogue.

Abud is also prominently known for his work as a three-time lead organizer of the Mombasa Business Awards, one of the region’s flagship business recognition platforms. His ability to build, mentor, and motivate teams has been instrumental in ensuring that the Awards remain a credible benchmark for business leadership and a catalyst for entrepreneurial growth.

Beyond the Chamber, Abud’s career reflects a broad portfolio of experience across business development, corporate relations, stakeholder engagement, shipping and logistics. He is recognized for his exceptional communication acumen, having consistently bridged the gap between institutional goals and community impact through clear messaging, advocacy, and strategic outreach. His strong grounding in partnership-building has enabled him to successfully cultivate relationships across the public sector, private sector, civil society, and international networks.

Abud is driven by a deep belief in the potential of Kenyan enterprises—particularly MSMEs—as engines of innovation, job creation, and sustainable development. He continues to champion policies and programmes that improve access to markets, strengthen enterprise resilience, and position Mombasa as a leading hub for business, trade, and investment.

Known for his authenticity, calm temperament, and results-oriented mindset, Abud has earned the respect of peers and stakeholders alike. His tenure at KNCCI Mombasa continues to reflect a steady commitment to institutional excellence, youth inclusion, and building a stronger, more globally connected business community.
